That happens in the Bible too! 2<\/strong>\uff0e<\/strong>Asa in 1 Kings: A Good King with a Strong Heart<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In 1 Kings 15<\/em>, Asa is described as a good king. The Bible says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAsa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, like his ancestor David\u2026 Asa\u2019s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He removed idols, stopped wrong practices in the temple, and even removed his own mother from power because of her idol worship. These were bold reforms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, 1 Kings<\/em> also says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe did not remove the high places.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n That means some local worship sites remained. Still, Asa is praised. Why? Because 1 Kings<\/em> focuses on the king\u2019s heart<\/strong>\u2014was it loyal to God like David\u2019s? The author cares more about inner faith<\/strong> than perfect reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3<\/strong>\uff0e<\/strong>Asa in 2 Chronicles: A Strong Start, But a Weak Finish<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2 Chronicles 13\u201316<\/em>, the story is different. Asa makes a political alliance with Aram to protect his country. Smart move? Maybe. But the Bible criticizes him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou relied on the king of Aram, not on the Lord your God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Later, Asa rejects a prophet\u2019s warning and puts him in prison. When Asa becomes sick, the Bible says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEven in his illness, he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This doesn\u2019t mean medicine is bad.
